About Me I am the Count of Derbyshire. I have holdings and business interests in many places, and own a fair sized fleet of ships.
Books I read boring non-fiction stuff.
Likes What, a list? All of them?
Dislikes Taxes. Unless, of course, they are paid to me.
Hobbies Depending on your point of view, either my life is my hobby or I have no hobbies.
Vices When two things are equally unbelievable, I choose to believe in whichever one is more fun.
Virtues I believe that sometimes the cheese is worth trying for, even if you end up getting snapped in the trap.
Heroes Compte St. Germain, The Neocount of Merentha, Ben Franklin.

Me home faire, what's left to say?

    Port O'Call: Grand Haven
    Grand Haven MI
    September 16th
Ahoy ye seadogs and landlubbers alike!

The Brethren be participating in Loutit Library's "Pirate Week" and are invading Grand Haven MI in style. The official name for the event is:"Pirate Week at Loutit Library"

Part one of the invasion be in the morn of September 16th where Count d'Booty and Meredith Crowe will be on WZZM TV13's "Take Five" program with Catherine Behrendt. See the on this morning TV talk show which starts at 9am on channel 13.

Also be listening for the Brethren on NPR radio WGVU 88.5 FM with Shelley Irwin, we'll be on there from time to time all week.

Part two of the invasion be at 2 pm September 16th where the Brethren will be visiting the Christian Home for the Aged for photo ops and a bit of piratey fun. Events like this in the past have been more fun than ye'd think as everyone get's into the full spirit of pirates.

There also may be a surprise visit or two to another location....

Part three of the invasion be the big one. We be sailing in on one of our pirate ships, coming straight up the channel, to dock ourselves directly along the break wall. After the boat be tied up, we're coming ashore where we have a horse drawn carriage waiting to take us to the library proper.

The Loutit Library (the temporary one on Taylor) is where we'll be having our most plunderful time, and when we have fun, so does everyone.

There'll be plenty of booty for the little ones, so bring them out and see the pirates!

    You'll have:
Count d'Booty, Meredith Crowe, Tiger Lilly, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Pegleg Williams (at the least) all on site making this a great time for everyone.

The boat sails in around 6:30pm, downtown Grand Haven.

Part four of the invasion be around 7pm of September 18th where the Brethren will be at Loutit Library for a bit of follow up fun.

Lee Mulder will be there to provide the pirate music as we raise the noise levels a bit in the library. If'n ye miss any of the shennanigans on the 16th, make up for it by coming out the 18th!

So if'n ye like to see the pirates around West Michigan, that be Muskegon and especially Grand Haven, show yer support for them by coming out on September 16th
(Tuesday) or September 18th (Thursday) to the temporary Loutit Library in Grand Haven.

The library be at the corner of Taylor and Beacon (31) and we'll be there from around 7-9 pm both days.

A good deal of our 2009 appearances are being decided on now, and if'n ye'd like us coming back to GH or Muskegon, ye need to let us know by just showin yer face in support!

So mark the dates well and come out and see us.
